German Crafts Collection 2022

In December 2021, the Federal Association of Arts and Crafts invited entries for the first time to a nationwide competition to put together a collection of German arts and crafts. Around 80 applications with approx. 250 exhibits from all areas of work were sent in. A jury selected 24 objects from all the entries. The exhibits come from the fields of jewellery and utensils, ceramics, wood, textiles, glass, leather and metal. They form the first German Crafts Collection, which will be presented to the public in Hanover in March and April.

I am very pleased that my kinetic wall object group KWO-FP is included and will thus also be on show in Hanover.

Since 2020, Handwerksform Hannover has been presenting European arts and crafts and design in the spring exhibition. This year’s focus is on Austria. 11 participants from the fields of glass, wood, paper, jewellery and textiles will show selected exhibits and thus provide an insight into contemporary Austrian design.

At the same time, in contrast, the 24 exhibits of the first German Crafts Collection will be presented, which was selected for the first time by the Federal Association of Arts and Crafts together with a top-class jury. This promises an exciting juxtaposition.
